The Berkeley Arms, Wymondham, by Brian Hollingshead, 1975

Wymondham's remaining public house was renovated during the autumn of 1999, and re-opened that December. It is named in honour of the Berkeley family, who owned land in Wymondham and Edmondthorpe from the 14th to the 17th century, but it was previously called The Angel Inn.

Brian Hollingshead has contributed sketches to The Leicester Mercury and The Melton Times as well as publishing books of local interest. Further examples of his work may be seen at his website and at the Christopher Wren Gallery, St. Mary's Way Car Park, Nottingham Street, Melton Mowbray. Tel 01664 480220.
