Thursday, 11th:  At assembly on the last day of term there will be a presentation made to John Glover, on his retirement after 25 years as the head teacher of St Peter's Primary School.


June, 2002

End of month:  Wymondham-Edmondthorpe Journal subscriptions of £3.50 for the year are due. Please pay at the Cottage Stores or hand to any member of the Editorial Committee.


Sunday, 30th:  Songs of Praise on the Village Green, 6:00pm.


Thursday, 20th:  Parish Council Annual General Meeting, at the Village Hall, 7:30pm.


Sunday, 2nd:  Open-Air Community Service & Family Picnic for the Queen's Jubilee, on the School Field at 12:30pm.

This will be a short informal service of thanksgiving for the Queen's reign, involving the young (and not-so-young) people of the village.

Do come along on the day and swell the congregation -- and bring along a picnic lunch to enjoy after the service and before celebrations continue for the afternoon.


Saturday, 1st:  Country-'n'-Western Evening at the Village Hall.

Tickets on sale at the Cottage Stores. Raffle in aid of the Village Hall.

Friday, 29th:  Good Friday Walk.
Starting with a service at Edmondthorpe Church at 10:30am, the walk continues to Wymondham Church for a service at 11:30am. Then on to Sewstern Church for a service at 2:00pm, stopping for a packed lunch en route. The final service is at Buckminster Church at 3:00pm.
